Walton Family entertains at Y's Cabaret Nights show

The Riverdale YM-YWHA's Cabaret Saturday Nights continue on Feb. 16, at 8 p.m., with the show My Brother's Keeper, a comical look at famous brothers throughout history.

The show is performed by Bob and Jim Walton, real-life brothers and Broadway veterans. My Brother's Keeper is a compilation of three musicals written by the pair, one of which has been licensed by Rodgers and Hammerstein.

The show will truly become even more of a family affair when Riverdale resident Bob Walton invites his wife, Laurie Walton, and their two children on stage to perform several numbers. Ms. Walton, who is also a Broadway star, is the Riverdale Y's performing arts director. She also directs the Riverdale Rising Stars, which both of her children, Emily and Alex, have performed with.

Emily is following in her parents' footsteps and will have her New York professional debut at Playwrights Horizon in March. She is also participating in a workshop of new musical at Lincoln Center.

Audience members can enjoy the show in an intimate, candle-lit cabaret atmosphere. There will be wine, Starbucks coffee/tea and sweets available.

The cost is $12 per person with limited seating. Tickets are available online at www.riverdaley.org with no service charge. Free parking is available.
