Bronx debut

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts will host a special live concert by George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic, on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. This show will mark the first-ever appearance in the Bronx by Clinton, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and is widely regarded as one of the most important innovators of funk music.

As the mastermind behind the bands Parliament and Funkadelic, Clinton revolutionized the urban music scene during the 1970s and 80s by recording three platinum albums and racking up dozens of R&B hit singles, including “Flashlight,” “One Nation Under a Groove,” “Aqua Boogie” and “(Not Just) Knee Deep.”

The event will be held at Concert Hall, located on the campus of Lehman College, at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West. Seats range from $45 to $60 and can be reserved online at www.lehmancenter.org or by calling 718-960-8833.
