WAVE HILL, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host its next Family Art Project on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Kerlin Learning Center. During this week’s activity, titled “Dances With Leaves,” visitors will first create their own festive crown or costume using fall leaves and leaf rubbings. Kids will be invited to run and jump through piles of leaves as well as toss them in the wind. Finally, participants can make artful arrangements of leaves on the lawn and collage leaf designs to bring home. This program is free with paid grounds admission. THE RIVERDALE Library, at 5540 Mosholu Ave., presents the following upcoming programs for kids:
- Baby Story Time, a special program for infants up to 18 months old, will be held on Thursdays, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, at 10:30 a.m. on both days. Participants and their parents can enjoy great books, as well as lively songs and fun rhymes, while meeting other neighborhood babies. Pre-registration is required.
- On Friday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m., the library will host the next meeting of Fun Fridays, a new weekly program for ages 8 to 12. Participants will have the chance to play a variety of board games, as well as enjoy other fun activities, with staff members and other children their age.
- The library presents Toddler Story Time, for ages 18 months to 3 years old, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy interactive stories, action songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers in the neighborhood. Preregistration is required.

THE KINGSBRIDGE Library, at 280 W. 231st St., will host Toddler Story Time, for ages 18 months to 3 years old, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy interactive stories, action songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers in the neighborhood. THE SPUYTEN Duyvil Library, at 650 W. 235th St., will hold Toddler Story Time, for children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old, on Thursdays, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, with sessions at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. During this program, participants can enjoy stories, songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers. THE VAN Cortlandt Library, located at 3874 Sedgwick Ave., will host Reading Aloud, for ages 3 to 6, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. Admission to this program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 718-543-5150.
THE BRONX Library Center, located at 310 E. Kingsbridge Road, will hold the following activities for children this week:
- On Friday, Nov. 6, at 4 p.m., the center will host Game Day, for ages 5 to 12. Participants will have the chance to play a variety of board games, including Connect 4, Uno, Checkers and Monopoly Jr., with other children and library staff members.
- The library invites ages 5 and older to experience “Icky Sticky Stuff” on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. Kids will stick to the walls and push the power of tape to the limits during this special program focusing on things that cling. Space is limited to 25 participants and pre-registration is required.
- On Sunday, Nov. 8, the center will host the special program “Mama from Mars,” for ages 7 to 12. Presented by accomplished Broadway performer C.C. Campbell, and with musical accompaniment by electric guitarist Brother Ah, this event will feature rocking music and audience participation, through which children will learn about the solar system, the planets, the stars and the way our galaxy works.
- The center presents “Dry Ice Capades,” a special science program for ages 5 and older, on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. Visitors will learn how to manipulate matter in all of its three states, including melting metal in boiling water and freezing water with just a bit of dry ice. Space is limited to 25 participants and pre-registration is required.
