Ethical talk

Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture, located at 4450 Fieldston Road, will host a talk at 11 a.m. in the Society’s meetinghouse.

Dr. Chuman, who has been the Leader of the Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County, N.J. for 30 years, will present “Pragmatism, idealism and politics.”

Dr. Chuman received his doctorate in religion from Columbia University and teaches seminars in religion and human rights for masters and doctoral students there.

He also teaches at Farileigh Dickinson University, CUNY’s Hunter College and United Nations University for Peace in San Jose, Costa Rica. He has published numerous articles in a variety of publications.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Retro cartoons

The Riverdale YM-YWHA, located at 5625 Arlington Ave., will host “Cartoons from the 1960s,” part of the Alana Llama Film Series for Children, at 10:30 a.m.

The program will feature classic cartoons such as The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Porky Pig, Top Cat, Quick Draw McGraw and more.

Tickets cost $7 and include free popcorn and a take-home gift.

Chamber music

The Christ Church of Riverdale, located at 5030 Henry Hudson Parkway East, continues its concert series. The Chamber Music concert will feature pianist Darin Lewis, violinist Kensho Watanabe, cellist Adrian Daurov and Nuno Artunes playing the clarinet. They will play pieces by Debussy, Mozart, Chopin and Brahms. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors.
