MetroCard buses and vans will make several stops in Riverdale and Kingsbridge during January, selling regular and reduced-priced cards.

The schedule is as follows:

  • On Friday, June 12, there will be stops from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 3880 Sedgwick Ave. and from 10 a.m. to noon at Knolls Crescent Mall, 21 Knolls Crescent.
  • On Wednesday, June 17, there will be stops from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at West 235th Street and Johnson Avenue, from noon to 1 p.m. at Skyview Shopping Center, which is on Riverdale Avenue between West 236th and West 259th Streets, and from 2 to 3 p.m. at West 231st Street and Broadway.
  • On Friday, June 26, there will be a stop from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at 3880 Sedgwick Ave.

Senior citizens and persons with disabilities may apply for the reduced-fare MetroCard at the MetroCard buses or may obtain an application from the vans. To apply for the card seniors must show photo identification proving they are at least 65 years old.

To be immediately processed, persons with disabilities must have a valid U.S. Medicare Card along with valid photo identification issued by the state or federal government. Disabled persons without Medicare cards must ensure that their doctors complete the physician’s section of the application. After a review process, permanent reduced-fare MetroCards are mailed to qualified applicants.

For more information or to find other locations with scheduled MetroCard bus or van visits, call 212-METROCARD or go to the MTA’s Web site at www.mta.info.
