WAVE HILL, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host its next Family Art Project on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Kerlin Learning Center. This week’s activity, titled “Shadow Play in the Forest,” will begin with Jorge Crespo’s shadow-puppet retelling of The Ant and the Grasshopper, which is a fable set among the trees of the Caribbean rainforest. Then, following the show, participants will make puppets and scenery for their own forest shadow play. This program is free with paid admission to Wave Hill, West 249th Street and Independence Avenue. For more information, call 718-549-3200.

THE RIVERDALE Library, at 5540 Mosholu Ave., presents the following upcoming programs for kids: • Baby Story Time, a special program for infants up to 18 months old, will be held today, Thursday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. Babies and their parents can enjoy great books, as well as lively songs and fun rhymes.

  • The library presents Toddler Story Time, for children, between 18 months and 3 years old, on Tuesday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy interactive stories, action songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers in the neighborhood.
  • Reading Aloud, a dramatic reading club for ages 6 to 11, will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, July 1, at 3 p.m.
  • On Thursday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m., the library will host a Baby Lapsit, for infants up to 18 months old. During this program, babies and their parents can enjoy songs, stories, nursery rhymes and finger plays.

THE KINGSBRIDGE Library, at 280 W. 231st St., will host Reading Aloud, for children ages 5 to 12, today, Thursday, June 25, at 4 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 718-548-5656.

THE SPUYTEN Duyvil Library, at 650 W. 235th St., will hold the following children’s programs during the upcoming week:

  • The library will hold Toddler Story Time, for children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old, today, Thursday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. During this program, participants can enjoy stories, songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers. Tickets will be distributed before the program.
  • On Tuesday, June 30, at 3:30 p.m., the children’s librarian will present a selection of summer tales during a special storytelling program for ages 5 to 12.
  • The library will host Reading Aloud, for ages 4 to 11, on Thursday, July 2, at 2 p.m. These events are open to the public, free of charge. For more information, call 718-796-1202.

THE VAN Cortlandt Library, located at 3874 Sedgwick Ave., invites local children, between the ages of 6 and 12, to make their own “Summer Vacation Journal,” during a special arts and crafts workshop that will be held on Wednesday, July 1, at 3 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. THE BRONX Library Center, located at 310 E. Kingsbridge Road, will host the following activities for children this week:

  • Today, Thursday, June 25, at 4 p.m., the center will host “Eric Carle Craft,” a special interactive art program for ages 7 to 12. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
  • The center will present Game Day, for kids ages 5 to 12, on Friday, June 26, at 4 p.m. Participants will have the chance to play a variety of board games, including Connect 4, Uno, Checkers and Monopoly Jr., with other children and library staff members.
