Candy store robbed

1. A robber struck the clerk at Broadway Candy on June 24 before running off with stolen beer, police said. The robbery happened about 5 a.m. at the store in the 240 block of West 231st Street. The clerk was not seriously hurt. No arrests have been made.

2. Jewelry stolen

Nearly $9,000 worth of jewelry was burglarized from a residence in the 5900 block of Arlington Avenue on Sunday, police said. The victim left home on June 25 and returned three days later to find the jewelry gone, police said. No arrests have been made.

3. Trailer burglary

A trailer was burglarized in the 2800 block of Exterior Street on June 22 about 2:30 a.m., police said. Information on items that may have been taken was not available. No arrests have been made.

4. Purse theft

A purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 60 block of Van Cortlandt Park West on June 23 about 4:30 p.m., police said. The purse thief, who has not been caught, faces a charge of grand larceny.

5. Stolen vehicle

A Dodge Caravan was stolen from Douglas Avenue and West 235th Street on June 26 about 10 a.m., police said. The vehicle owner parked it on June 24 and returned two days later to find it missing. The vehicle has not been recovered.
