Family art
Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host a family art project from 1 to 4 p.m.
Families can turn blossoms made of color-soaked coffee filters into a blooming watercolor vision, all without using a brush. The event will be held in the Sally and Gilbert Kerlin Learning Center and is free with admission to the grounds.
It will be held the same time the next day, Sunday, July 5.

The Bronx Arts Ensemble Jazz and Dixieland Band will play a musical salute to George M. Cohan, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, W.C. Handy and others in their concert in the park at Rockwood Drive Circle, near Mosholu Avenue and Broadway.

If it rains the concert will be moved to Vladeck Hall in the Amalgamated Houses, corner of Hillman Avenue and Van Cortlandt Park South.
The concert is also the kick-off event for BAE’s “Summermusic 2009” series, which continues on Sundays, July 12, 19, and 26, and August 2 and 9. The series includes classical music, polkas, Irish and Italian favorites, and tango, among other styles.
