Maybe it's late in the season, and everyone's ready for summer break. Or maybe certain people were alerted and not others, but I hope CB8 is not digging in its heels on this, and accepts the DOT plan.

They really should support the bus bulbs as a convenience to bus riders. There may be 2 bus stops between 242nd and Yonkers, and they'd be 10-20 second pauses at most. The bus would be blink as it moved on - improving bus arrival times.

They should support the protected bike lane, and start working with DOT to figure out where to put a couple of them to make connections west of the park. The effect would be to ultimately decrease congestion, and make it safer to do chores or go to school, community centers, playing fields, etc. in our neighborhoods. A mother wanting milk and bread, wouldn't t have to worry about pulling out the car and dealing with traffic - or dropping off the kids at a playing field. They can bike to their different activities. I agree Mosholu and Riverdale Ave. are good prospects, but so would be some streets that head west and make safe connections.

And definitely please do not turn Broadway into a parking lot with angled parking.

If cities move travel more to pedestrians, cyclists (who will not be taking over the earth), and public transportation, carbon emissions drop by 40%. And there's the aspect of safer streets and safer neighborhoods.
