All invited to Engel town hall

To the editor:

On Sunday, March 5 at 12:30 p.m. in Hayes Hall at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, NYCD16 Indivisible, a grassroots organization founded to resist the extreme policies of the Trump Administration and promote a progressive agenda, is sponsoring a town hall with Representative Eliot Engel, our Congressman.

In addition to Representative Engel, the March 5 town hall will feature expert panelists from the community who will address immigration, religious freedom, healthcare, justice and LGBT rights issues. A significant portion of the meeting will be devoted to audience questions.

During the first days of the Trump Administration, we experienced daily assaults on core American values and freedoms, as well as policy initiatives that threaten our environment and healthcare and much more.

We urge the community to join us at this important meeting and to join NYCD16 Indivisible (on Facebook at nycd16indivisible) in our many activities to resist the attacks and preserve both our essential values and the policies and services that are essential to our democracy and quality of life.
