THE BRONX River Art Center and the New York City Department of Transportation present “Aurora,” a new temporary outdoor art sculpture by Mexican-born, New York City-based artist Diego Medina, which is now on display for the next 11 months at West Farms Square Plaza in the Bronx. “Aurora” is constructed of marine birch plywood and consists of six interlocking geometric shapes, such as columns, a half-star and a half-circle, and it measures 14-feet-tall by 11-feet-wide and 11-feet-deep. Each component of the sculpture is juxtaposed to look dramatically different from various perspectives. West Farms Square Plaza is located at the base of the West Farms Square/East Tremont Avenue subway station, on the corner of East Tremont Avenue and Boston Road, just one block away from the Bronx River Art Center.
