Bon Secours New York Health System, which operates the Schervier Nursing Care Center in Riverdale, has appointed Carlos Beato to take over as its new chief executive officer.
Mr. Beato takes over the reigns at Schervier from Eileen Malo, who has served as interim CEO since James Higgins left Schervier in spring 2011.

Most importantly, he brings a passion for our mission, as well as a proven leadership tone and relationship-building skills that are consistent with our mission and values,” Dr. Priest said in a press release.
Mr. Beato will work collaboratively with Brother Art Caliman, president of the board of directors for Bon Secours New York.
“… we are pleased to have a leader and health care professional of Carlos’ caliber here to help this mission continue to flourish,” Brother Caliman said.
