Voters in the northwest Bronx helped Hillary Clinton to a decisive victory over U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary last night.

The former secretary of state won 10,502 votes to Mr. Sanders' 6,047 in the 81st Assembly district, which covers Riverdale and Kingsbridge, according to unofficial results from the Board of Elections in the City of New York.

The lead-up to the primary saw former President Bill Clinton make speeches in Riverdale two times.

Local results mirrored those in the rest of the city and state on the Republican ballot, too. Here Donald Trump won 892 votes, John Kasich 352 and Ted Cruz 309.

Citywide, Ms. Clinton won 63.4 percent of the vote and Mr. Trump won 63.68 percent.

Ms. Clinton won every electoral district in the northwest Bronx except for the 57th in Riverdale, where Mr. Sanders won by 84 to 70 votes, and the 47th in Spuyten Duyvil, where Mr. Sanders won 28-25. Mr. Trump won all of the northwest Bronx's electoral districs except for four, where only a handful of people participated.

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated Ms. Clinton won 63.4 percent of the vote and Mr. Trump 63.68 percent of the vote in the state. Those figures represented their results in New York City.
