Police arrested a Riverdale woman and a Florida man on Nov. 7 for robbing a Country Bank in Scarsdale. They are suspected of being connected to a recent string of robberies — including one in Riverdale — although they were only charged in one heist.

Authorities said on Nov. 6 at around 12:52 p.m., Erin Dzikas of Delafield Avenue in Riverdale and Emilio Alvarado of Homestead, Florida arrived in a cab at a Country Bank at 80 Garth Road in Scarsdale, about ten miles northeast of Riverdale.

According to the criminal complaint, Ms. Dzikas, 30, entered the bank while Mr. Alvarado, 28, waited outside in the cab for Ms. Dzikas to rob it.

Police said she allegedly handed a teller a note that read, “Give me all the money. I have a gun and I don’t want to hurt anyone. Do it quickly. Don’t press the alarm. Wait until I leave. Quickly.”

The teller handed over $1,092 and Ms. Dzikas allegedly went back to the cab where Mr. Alvarado was waiting, according to court records. The pair fled the scene and Ms. Dzikas gave Mr. Alvarado a portion of the stolen cash, according to those same records.

The duo was apprehended in the Bronx last week, police said. Both were charged with robbery in the third degree, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s office.

Ms. Dzikas and Mr. Alvarado were arraigned in Eastchester Town Court, and are being held at the Westchester County Jail on $300,000 bonds, Westchester’s Journal News reported.

Earlier this month, other Country Bank branches were targeted, according to police.

The first incident, which took place on Nov. 1 at around 12:05 p.m., happened at a Country Bank located at 4349 Katonah Ave. According to police, a woman entered the bank and claimed to have a gun. Police said she demanded cash from the teller and fled with $587.

Three days later at around 11:30 a.m., police said the woman struck again. This time, she robbed Country Bank’s Riverdale branch at 583 West 235th St.

Police said in that robbery, the woman handed a teller a note demanding cash and ended up fleeing with $2,720.

Police are still investigating both Bronx robberies and could not confirm if Ms. Dzikas and Mr. Alvarado were involved in either case.
