Thanks for saying no to Trumpism

To the editor:

I wish to commend Congressman Elliot Engel for his remarks at the Town Hall Meeting on Sunday, March 5th at Mount St. Vincent College. He was heartedly applauded for not shaking the president’s hand at the State of the Union address last week, emphasizing that Mr. Trump’s vision of America is not the vision of the Democratic party. Referring to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, he reminded the audience that America was founded on the principle that every person has the right to pursue their dream and develop their God-given talents without regard for not only the color of their skin, but also their religion, and where they were born.

This is the time to resist the extreme Trump agenda by getting more people (especially younger voters) involved in grassroots organization; by continuing to raise our voices, we will be heard.
