Sneaker salesman robbed 

1. A 19-year-old man who was meeting with an acquaintance to sell him two pairs of sneakers instead got the sneakers stolen by that acquaintance, police said. 

The would-be buyer allegedly took the sneakers by force when he met with the seller in front of 5616 Mosholu Ave. on Dec. 30, police said. After a short struggle, the suspect threatened the victim with what appeared to be a black firearm, police said. 

The alleged thief is suspected of taking a pair of Nike Air Force One sneakers and a pair of Cherry Red Air Jordan 7’s, totaling $900 in value.

This case is open to detectives.

 

$28,000 check stolen

2. An unidentified thief broke into a parked car and stole a $28,000 check, along with $80 in cash and a MetroCard, police said.

The victim, 34, parked her car in front 735 Kappock St., on Dec. 28 at around 2:30 p.m. When she returned, she found the rear passenger side window had been broken and someone had taken the items, police said. 

This case is open to detectives.

 

Christmas car thief 

3. A car was stolen from the corner of Goulden and Sedgwick avenues, after the owner parked it there on Christmas Day, police said. 

The victim, 37, said he returned three days later and found his 1990 Nissan Stanza stolen, according to police.

There were no cameras on scene, and a police canvass of the area produced negative results.  

This case is closed to patrol.

 

Drunk driver injured in crash

4. Police say they arrested a man just five hours into the New Year for driving drunk on Broadway. 

They said the suspect, 29, was involved in an undisclosed motor accident at the corner of W. 230th Street and Broadway, when police arrested him. 

According to police reports, the suspect had a strong smell of alcohol and bloodshot eyes.  He was taken to the hospital, where his blood was analyzed for intoxication. 

This case is closed due to arrest.
