WAVE HILL, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host its next Family Art Project on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Kerlin Learning Center. This week’s activity, titled “Shadow Play in the Forest,” will begin with Jorge Crespo’s shadow-puppet retelling of The Ant and the Grasshopper, which is a fable set among the trees of the Caribbean rainforest. Then, following the show, participants will make puppets and scenery for their own forest shadow play. This program is free with paid admission to Wave Hill, West 249th Street and Independence Avenue. For more information, call 718-549-3200.

THE RIVERDALE Library, at 5540 Mosholu Ave., presents the following upcoming programs for kids: • Baby Story Time, a special program for infants up to 18 months old, will be held today, Thursday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. Babies and their parents can enjoy great books, as well as lively songs and fun rhymes.

  • The library presents Toddler Story Time, for children, between 18 months and 3 years old, on Tuesday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy interactive stories, action songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers in the neighborhood.
  • Reading Aloud, a dramatic reading club for ages 6 to 11, will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, July 1, at 3 p.m.
  • On Thursday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m., the library will host a Baby Lapsit, for infants up to 18 months old. During this program, babies and their parents can enjoy songs, stories, nursery rhymes and finger plays.
