WAVE HILL, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host its next Family Art Project on Saturday and Sunday, July 4 and 5, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Kerlin Learning Center. During this week’s activity, titled “Spray a River Garden,” participants can paint a colorful summer garden without even using a brush. Each person will combine mists of watercolor and blossoms formed by color-soaked coffee filters to create a unique blooming waterslide vision. This program is free with paid admission to Wave Hill, West 249th Street and Independence Avenue. For more information, call 718-549-3200.

THE RIVERDALE Library, at 5540 Mosholu Ave., presents the following upcoming programs for kids:

  • Baby Lapsit, a special program for infants up to 18 months old, will be held on Thursdays, July 2 and 9, at 10:30 a.m. Babies and their parents can enjoy songs, stories, nursery rhymes and finger plays.
  • The library presents Toddler Time, for ages 18 months up to 3 years old, on Tuesday, July 7, at 10:30 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy interactive stories, action songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers in the neighborhood.
  • Reading Aloud, a dramatic reading club for ages 6 to 11, will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, July 8, at 3 p.m.

THE KINGSBRIDGE Library, at 280 W. 231st St., will host Reading Aloud, for children ages 5 to 12, on Tuesday, July 7, at 2 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 718-548-5656.

THE SPUYTEN Duyvil Library, at 650 W. 235th St., will hold the following children’s programs during the upcoming week:

  • The library will host Reading Aloud, for ages 4 to 11, on Thursdays, July 2 and 9, as well as Tuesday, July 7, at 2 p.m. on all three days.
  • On Thursday, July 9, at 3:30 p.m., the library will hold a Summer Reading Club arts and crafts workshop, for ages 5 to 11. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required.
