1.Larceny at construction site

Police said an unknown number of suspects stole two light towers from a construction site on East 233rd Street and the Major Deegan Expressway sometime between Nov. 14 and 17.

Employees told police that at the end of the workday on Nov. 14, no one had taken or removed the towers, valued at $10,000, but they found United Rental Company’s equipment missing upon returning days later. 

The grand larceny case remains open to detectives.

2. Students attack classmate

Two students attacked a 12-year-old classmate at the David A. Stein Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy (M.S./H.S. 141) on Monday around 2:50 p.m., according to police.

They said the victim was riding his bicycle home from school when the other boys approached him on the corner of Independence Avenue and West 235th Street.  One perpetrator grabbed the victim’s bike while the other hit the victim and tried to take his money. The two fled the scene and no property was taken. One suspect was described 15 and no age was given for the other.

The case remains open to detectives.

3. Restaurant break-in

King’s Wok Chinese Restaurant, located at 6669 Broadway was the subject of a burglary sometime between 11 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 10 a.m. the following day, according to police.  

They said that an unknown number of perpetrators entered the restaurant through the roof and stole $50 in cash from the register as well as an $1,100 surveillance system and a $300 Verizon modem. 

This burglary case remains open to detectives.

4. Electric bike stolen

A 20-year-old male told police around 3:15 p.m. on Monday that his electric bike was stolen in front of his place of work at 161 W. 231st St. 

Surveillance footage from the area showed the perpetrator was a roughly 6-foot-1-inch Hispanic male in his late 20s. The bike was valued at around $1,400.

This grand larceny case is still open to detectives.

5. Laundry room burglarized

Police said three people entered a laundry room at 5777 Mosholu Ave. and broke into a coin machine on Nov. 15 between 2 and 3 a.m.

Surveillance video from the apartment building reportedly showed the suspects breaking, but a police report was unclear as to whether they managed to steal anything.
