Miller, a devoted mother, dies at 75

Marilyn Yvonne Miller, formerly of Riverdale, died on Dec. 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Home in Cherry Hill, N.J. She was 75.

 Ms. Miller was born June 26, 1937 in Atlantic City, N.J. She was the second oldest of six siblings. 

She was employed in the Atlantic City hotel industry before moving to New York City in 1961.

She loved spending time with her family, reading and shopping, her family said. She devoted much of her time and energy to raising her children.

Ms. Miller was predeceased by her husband Cecil; parents Edgar and Verna Rhodes; sister Phyllis; and her niece Denise.

She is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Penny of Newark, Del.; her daughter Michelle and her husband Al of Marlton, N.J.; sisters Joyce White of Pleasantville, N.J. and Cora Jackson and her husband Ted of Trenton, N.J.; brothers Edgar III “Buddy” of Washington, D.C., Michael and his wife Kim of Mays Landing, N.J.; grandchildren Anthony, Jennifer and Viola; great-grandchildren Nelson and Vanessa; eight nephews; three nieces; 20 grand-nieces; and six grand-nephews.

Internment was held privately.
