Native American celebration

Sunday, June 12 marks the 14th annual Drums Along the Hudson, a Native American and multicultural celebration taking place opposite Spuyten Duyvil, within sight of the northwest Bronx.

The free festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Inwood Hill Park, the northernmost tip of Manhattan, rain or shine.

Enjoy an open-air pow-wow with Native American dancers, drum styles that span the globe, crafts, storytelling, international cuisine, an environmental tent and a world market tent.

Organizers said when you start hearing the drums and smelling the food from across the river, jump on your bikes and ride down to Inwood Hill Park. In keeping with their environmental theme, bike valets will be on hand to park them. The Bx7 bus and 1 Train will also reach the festivities.
