Pedestrian Killed

1. A 75-year-old man was killed when a Westchester County Bee-Line bus struck him in the 6300 block of Broadway on June 8, police said. Sola Anastase walked in front of the bus about 11 p.m., police said, and the driver didn’t see him until it was too late. The driver did not appear to have violated any traffic laws, police said. Mr. Anastase was taken to a hospital in Yonkers, where he died. The Bee-Line bus is owned and operated by Westchester County.

2. Armed robbery

An armed robber with three accomplices stole $321 and a gold chain from a man at West 240th Street and Tibbett Avenue about 4 p.m. on June 10, police said. A 20-year-old man was arrested, but the other three assailants got away. The 34- year-old victim was not hurt.

3. Purse snatching

A robber snatched a woman’s purse as she walked near West 260th Street and Broadway on June 12 shortly before 10 p.m., police said. The robber ran into Van Cortlandt Park and hasn’t been apprehended. The 38-year-old alleged victim’s lost property includes identification cards and her wallet.

4. Teen robbed

A teenage boy was walking home from school near Tibbett Avenue and West 230th Street when another boy went through his pocket, punched him in the head, and stole his MetroCard on June 11 about 5 p.m., police said. The victim suffered an ear injury. His alleged attacker, also a juvenile, was arrested.

5. Struggle with police

A woman who allegedly assaulted another woman inside of 16 Marble Hill Ave. struggled with police before they arrested her about 6:30 p.m. on June 10, police said. The woman, 22, allegedly punched the 24-year-old female victim several times, bruising her left shoulder, police said. After a brief physical altercation with police, she was charged with assault.

6. Break-in

A burglar reportedly stole $1,300, an Xbox game system, a laptop computer and a DVD player from a residence in the 2700 block of University Avenue on Sunday, police said. The 24-yearold victim said he lost his keys, then came home to find the house key in the lock and items taken from his room.

7. Broadway burglary

A burglar forced open the door of a residence in the 6600 block of Broadway last week and stole $130 and a gold ring before getting away, police said. The 32-year-old victim told police the burglar had forced open the lock. The thief has not been caught.
