Police said that she left her bag at a table in the coffee store unattended while she made the order.

When she returned to the table, another customer informed her that an unknown man went into her bag while she left it unattended.

The female perpetrator told the elderly woman that she found a bag with cash, police said.

Police suspect that the perpetrator tricked the woman into handing over a small amount of money in exchange for a larger amount from her bogus cash discovery, which she claimed exceeded $1,000.
