1. Grazed by a Bullet

An innocent bystander was grazed by a bullet on West 225th Street and Broadwayat around 8:53 p.m. on Aug.29, police said. 

According to police, two men were arguing in front of 5203 Broadway. After the dispute, the two men opened fire and ran down Broadway. 

The woman who was grazed by the bullet was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital. 

 

Police are reviewing surveillance cameras in the area. The case is open to detectives. 

Burglary at Metate

Police said that on Sept. 1 at 8 a.m., workers of Metate, a Mexican restaurant in Riverdale, arrived to find that the entrance of the eatery had been broken into. The incident was reported two hours later.

When the workers entered the restaurant, which was located at 3515 Johnson Ave, they noticed that the cash register was opened with no cash inside, police said. 

According to the police report, $130 dollars in cash were taken along with 300 dollars worth of coins.  

A hammer was found at the scene along with a bag of clothing, according to police.  

Police are reviewing surveillance cameras at the location. The case is open to detectives.

3. Missing Toyota Highlander

A 41-year-old man parked his 2004 white Toyota Highlander near Hudson Parkway on West 231st Street on Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. When the man returned at the location around 5 p.m., the car was gone, police said. 

According to police, there were no broken glass and the car was not towed. Police added that no one else had permission to take or move the vehicle. 

The case is open to detectives. 

4. Tires stolen on Irwin Avenue

A 63-year-old woman parked her 2013 Honda around West 236 Street and Irwin Avenue on Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. 

Police said that when the woman returned the next day at 8.a.m, she noticed that the front and rear passenger tires were removed. 

According to police, the perpetrators used bricks to hold up the car after the tires and rims had been removed. The stolen tires and rims cost $2,500. 

Police are reviewing cameras near the location. The case is open to detectives.   

5. Bathroom brawl

Police said that at 2 a.m. on Aug. 29, a 20-year-old man had a dispute at an establishment on West 231st Street with two men.
