Stanley Lane playoff results

Sunday marked the first day of playoffs for the Stanley Lane basketball league and everyone from parents to kids were excited to get it started.

Junior Division

Hertz Dental Stars: 31

Bull Dogs: 29 

The Hertz Dental Stars advanced behind Esteban Ramos’ 15 points. The Bulldogs, who got 10 points from Sam Weiss, led most of the game, but their late rally fell short.

Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry: 44

New York Bulls: 19 

The Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry team has been the division’s top team all season, and Sunday was no different. Ayden Gurin led the charge with 24 huge points.  Hudson Rodriguez led the Bulls with 14 points.

Marti’s Knits: 21

Ginzburg Drillers: 7

This game was all about defense and defense prevailed. Sam Teplitsky provided the bulk of the scoring for Marti’s Knits, finishing with 12 points. Christian Afiryie scored five points for the Drillers and had multiple blocks.

Loeb & Troper: 39

Riverdale Pediatric Hot Shots: 10

Yonah Glazer led Loeb & Troper with 12 points in a dominant win. The Riverdale Pediatric Hot Shots played hard from start to finish, and Yosef Maayan scored three points, but Loeb & Troper looked poised for a deep playoff push. 

Varsity Division

Hertz Dental Stars: 34

Riverdale Medicine 

& Rehabilitation Center: 33

Both teams played strong, aggressive basketball and no one wanted to lose. AJ Rodriguez led the Dental Stars to the amazing last-second victory with 25 points. Andrew Heft finished with 23 points for Medicine & Rehab.

Riverdale Y Lightning: 43

Brown’s Jewelers: 17

Noam Siegel was absolutely dominant for the Lightning, finishing with 17 points and controlling the game with his size. William Trump scored six points for Brown’s Jewelers.

Riverdale Pediatric Hot Shots: 37

Global Operations: 30

Adin Fischer led the Hot Shots with 16 points and played strong defense. Kobi Moskowitz finished with 14 points for Global Operations.

Devonshire Tires Maccabi: 25

Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry: 20 

This game was lower scoring but full of intensity. Devonshire pulled off the win with timely shooting and poise. Joel Taylor scored eight points for Riverdale Pediatric.
