Musical guests Work O’ The Weavers will perform at the Uptown Coffeehouse, located in the Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture at 4450 Fieldston Road, at 5 p.m. The group performs ballads, works songs, hymns, lullabies and traditional folk songs from around the world that the Weavers made famous. Sisterhood bazaar The Sisterhood of Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale will host its semi-annual bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the synagogue, located at West 250th Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway. The collection of items for sale is intended to appeal to the whole family, from clothing to jewelry, toys, games and books. The synagogue’s Judaica Shop is also offering 25 percent discounts on merchandise priced at over $10, excluding klafim and books. Snacks and drinks will also be for sale. Family minyan Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, located at 3700 Henry Hudson Parkway, will meet in the lobby of its new building for a family program at 9 a.m. The morning of music and singing will be followed by a light breakfast and an arts and crafts project. The event is for toddlers to 6 year olds. There is a suggested donation of $3. White will deliver an ethical humanist perspective on pain, loss and love at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture, located at 4450 Fieldston Road. How to deal with hardship, loss and life’s toughest situations can be a struggle integral to being an ethical humanist, according to the Society. Mr. White’s talk will discuss the community of trust and mutual support ethical humanists seek to build to respond to these issues. For more information, call 718-548-4445.
