Technology talk Riverdale Senior Services, located at 2600 Netherland Ave., will host the second talk in its Century Seminars series at 1:30 p.m. Featured speaker Tom Mc- Carvel, from Enrichment Audio Resource Services, will speak about technology for the vision impaired. Then there will be a demonstration of the technology available at Riverdale Senior Services. For more information, call 718-884-5900. Songs of NYC Riverdale Senior Services, located at 2600 Netherland Ave., will host the last class in its series “Popular Song and American History” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The class, entitled “Songs of New York,” will examine tunes that reflect New York’s history, its neighborhoods, ethnic groups and the New York way of life, including the importance of Broadway and the theater. Headache help Riverdale chiropractor Dr. Mark Eisen will give a talk at 7 p.m. about lifestyle changes to reduce the chances of getting headaches at Riverdale Wellness Group’s offices, 3701 Henry Hudson Parkway, Suite 1E. Clearance sale The Shop at Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host a clearance sale from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shop offers gifts made by local artists, such as fun and educational toys, handcrafted soaps, art such as ceramics, glass and jewelry that is inspired by nature, seasonal plants and locally made honey, including from Wave Hill’s own hives. The shop is located in the Perkins Visitor Center. The clearance sale continues through Sunday, June 28. For more information, call 718-549-3200 ext. 249. Studio sessions Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will continue with its open-air studio sessions, weather permitting, at 10 a.m. Wave Hill will provide the easels, basic supplies and its surroundings. Participants should bring their own paper or canvas of their choice to enable independent work. There will be a facilitated critique at noon. The event costs $10 for members; $18 for nonmembers, including admission to the grounds. Preregistration is not required but the class is limited to 12 participants and may fill up.
