Banks win

Posted

To the editor:

With the tie-breaking vote by Vice President Mike Pence, the U.S. Senate just took away from consumers the right to file class-action suits against banks.

Individual consumers will now again have to engage in arbitration with arbitrators chosen by the banks.

While we applaud Sens. McCain, Flake and Corker for speaking publicly about the dangers of President Trump and his unfitness for office, I urge each of them to explain in detail why their vote in favor of the banks is in the interest of ordinary Americans.
