Cops dubious of man’s claim he was hit by car

A 40-year-old man says he’s the latest victim on the wrong end of a car vs. pedestrian accident on the Henry Hudson Parkway, but police aren’t buying it.

A 2006 Toyota SUV, driven by a 54-year-old man police didn’t identify, was making a right turn at West 236^th Street and the Henry Hudson Thursday night when he said a man popped out between parked cars and “threw himself” to the ground in front of the SUV.

The would-be victim claimed the SUV hit him, and sent him flying after speeding through the turn, according to the 50^th Precinct.

Yet, when paramedics arrived on the scene, it appeared the driver’s story was more credible than the pedestrian’s, after determining the younger man didn’t suffer any injuries, and there was no damage to the SUV.

No one was transported to the hospital, and police concluded the investigation, calling it nothing more than a civil case of he-said, he-said.

The case is being referred to the New York Police Department's fraudulent collision investigation squad, police said.
