Court wait

Posted

To the editor:

If Congress will not wait to vote on a U.S. Supreme Court nomination until after the mid-term elections, members must demand a verbal commitment from any nominee that he or she will recuse themselves from all matters related in any way to the Robert Mueller probe, including issues of presidential power, pardon power, subpoena power, etc.

We know Trump always exacts a loyalty pledge (directly or indirectly), and this nominee will be no different.

We need to tell our senators now that any nominee who would refuse to give such a commitment would be automatically disqualified.
