Don't forget Parkland

To the editor:

I couldn’t be more proud of the Parkland students!

They are fierce. They are brilliant. The NRA and its soulless representatives are no match for them.

For the first time, I believe some positive changes will be made that will impact the insane level of mass shootings in this country because of these young people who have decided to speak out and shame those who believe even a mentally ill teenager has the right to own weapons of war.

Not after Columbine, Newtown, Vegas, Orlando and other horrific mass shootings did I see so many American companies coming forward to cut ties with the NRA.

Seeing some of these young people speaking on television brings tears to my eyes because I know, but for their age, they would make a much more thoughtful and rational president than the person who now occupies the White House.

Let’s join them in their effort to end this scourge of mass shootings which snuff out the lives of Americans, and especially the lives of innocent children.
