From many children, to a veteran

To the editor:

The fifth-graders from P.S. 75 have written to our veterans. I have used lines from their letters to form one message out of many.

Dear Veteran: You are a hero. You have risked your life for our country. (Aminatou) You have a unique style. (Angel) We admire your determination to protect our country. (Mercelis) You have so much integrity. (Rachael) You fought for us when we needed you most. We are grateful for you and your soldier-mates. (Aminatou) We are grateful for all your work and bravery. (Rachael)

Wars are never the answer because they take people’s lives without benefits. Wars bring misery and lots of tears. (Luselly) Wars cause destruction and loss of lives. Peace is the way to solve any conflict. (Imani) Peace is the solution. (Shaniah) Wars separate the world. (Myami)

Today, we wish you a wonderful life. (Diana) And we wish you joy. (Angel)
