Girl Scout Marieteresa Porcher Allen displays the results of her drive to collect hair for wigs for young people who have lost their hair due to burns, chemotherapy or other reasons. Marieteresa, 11, reached more than double the goal she set to earn a Girl Scout Silver Award — the highest award for Girl Scout Cadettes — receiving 239 donations via mail and from city hair salons by the middle of this month.
