Homeless? Do the right thing

We who are privileged, for whom housing and warm clothing and three meals a day are taken for granted, must open our hearts and our neighborhood to those who are in need.

In the majority of cases, men and women and children who have lived “normal” lives experience abrupt changes of fortune when losing a job or becoming seriously ill.

Suddenly, there is no source of income, medical care, home or stability.

It could happen to any of us.

The plan for Broadway housing must go forward for our homeless citizens.

The politicians who are railing against it are mean-spirited and shortsighted, probably pandering for votes.

But we must do the right thing.
