1. Knife-wielding beer thief
5237 Broadway

An attempted beer thief was stopped in his tracks by police on June 21, authorities said. They reportedly caught the 58-year-old suspect with a stolen 12-pack fleeing from the Rite-Aid at 5237 Broadway. In an effort to escape, he reportedly boarded a city bus after brandishing a knife at an employee who followed him out demanding payment. Police said the worker then stopped the bus three blocks away, where officers arrested the suspect. The case is closed due to an arrest.
2. Jewels stolen from home
3941 Orloff Ave.
Bronx, NY
A 51-year-old woman came home to 3941 Orloff Ave. on June 21 to find her front door unlocked and the residence burglarized, according to police. They said the incident occurred some time between 1:30 and 4:30 a.m. The suspects allegedly stole jewelry valued at $8,000 from the victim’s home. There was no video surveillance of the burglars, and the case remains open to detectives.
3. CR-V stolen
3135 Johnson Ave.
Bronx, NY
Unknown suspects stole a red Honda CR-V parked in front of 3135 Johnson Ave. on June 25, authorities said. After the 31-year-old female victim reportedly parked the SUV at 12:30 p.m. that day, she returned around 11:30 p.m. to find it missing. The case is closed to investigation.
4. Motorcycle larceny
221 W. 230th St.
Bronx, NY
After a 46-year-old man parked his 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle in front of 221 W. 230th St. on June 25 around midnight, he returned to the location at 8:30 a.m. to find it stolen, police said. Authorities added that they conducted a canvas of the surrounding area with negative results. The case is closed to detectives.
5. Intoxicated driver caught
Corner of West 231st Street and Riverdale Avenue
Bronx, NY
Police said they arrested a woman for driving while intoxicated on June 24 after she drove through a red light at West 231st Street and Riverdale Avenue They reported observing the 34-year-old driver run the light, then stop in the intersection, blocking traffic. She was arrested and taken to the precinct for a Breathalyzer exam. The DWI case is closed due to arrest.
