KRVC movie event at Vannie was fun

Posted

To the editor:

On July 26, I attended a screening of “The Sound of Music” on the lawn at the Van Cortlandt House, and wanted to let you know how fun and wonderful this community event was.

Sen. Jeffrey Klein and his office co-sponsored the event along with KRVC, and it was really well organized and fun for all ages. There were activities for children before the movie — face-painting, mini-golf, etc. — and there was live music that really set a nice tone for the whole event.

A short film by a Bronx filmmaker played before the movie, and the director was on-hand to introduce the short. I wasn’t expecting to see the short, and was really happy to see a local film.

Sen. Klein went around and greeted everyone while handing out popcorn and drinks. The movie itself played on a massive blow-up screen, and the sound quality was great. It was just a really lovely, inclusive, welcoming evening.

I know there is another Riverdale screening coming up in Seton Park in September, and I’m excited to get out for another local free event.

Ugh

Our tax money pays for the great things KRVC does. That money doesn't belong to Jeff Klein.

Meanwhile, while Jeff Klein is passing out popcorn and soda, His major donor Daniel Loeb compares distinguished Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, to the KKK. Loeb says "Thank God for Jeff Klein" and has given $100K to Klein and his IDC. Senator Cousins is the black woman who, according to New York's voters, should be leading NY Democrats in the senate.

The IDC gang blocks her leadership by voting for Jeff Klein to hold the position, which he never will because true Democratic senators see past his facade. That's why New York's Senate is controlled by Republican John Flanagan and the rest of Trump's GOP. Riverdale is waking up. We won't be bought with movies and snacks.
