Let's save lives

(re: “Residents give Bronx cheer to new Broadway traffic plan,” June 1)

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz made a good point when he noted that people have died on Broadway because of current conditions.

We should not leave the status quo in place. Endless requests to the city’s transportation department to study alternatives to the recommendations they made after careful study are more likely to stall action than move us toward solutions.

I hope DOT will implement its proposal, with or without the full support of Community Board 8, and follow up implementation with careful review of its effects. 

Let’s save lives.
