Posted

Work continues on subway tracks throughout the northern part of the city, especially the Bronx. And it will severely affect the 1 train this weekend.

Begining at 3:30 a.m., on Saturday, 1 trains will not run between 137th and 242nd streets in both directions because of track replacement. The interrupted service is expected to run until 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Anyone looking to get out of the Bronx (or back home), can take the A train, the M3 or M100 buses, or free shuttle buses, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. 1 trains will run between 137th Street and South Ferry.

For anyone riding the A train, it can be picked up in Inwood or Washington Heights, with a connection to the 1 train at 59th Street/Columbus Circle. There's also connections at 168th Street.
