In 1945 “the war is over” was announced
People cheered hoping for peace abound
Reality proved nothing was over in the land
Instead we were evicted from our homeland
Where could we go? Who wanted us?
We were distributed in the West without fuss
We found more anguish not peace, we had to travel slow
On foot long distances with no place to go
Hungry, tired fearful and train tracks destroyed
We had lost everything, everything dear
to us and annoyed
Who can comprehend having to search
for a shed
To find some rest for one night
to put down your head
Who can comprehend when you never
had to beg for a piece of bread
We were promised a better life
and what did we get?
A wall was built instead
To keep people out or in?
What a sin!!!!!!
