Sen. Klein loves Riverdale business

To the editor:

As members of the South Riverdale Merchants Association, we’d like to express our gratitude toward state Sen. Jeff Klein for his tireless dedication to this community.

First and foremost, Sen. Klein is an elected officials who frequently makes himself available to our neighborhood.

As busy as he is, and considering his district office isn’t based in Riverdale, he always finds time to visit the area and patronize local shops that comprise our merchants association.

When he’s in the area, either dining or shopping, he’s always willing to listen to our concerns and do what it takes to resolve any outstanding issues.

Sen. Klein also has a hand in many of our community’s most cherished annual events. Take, for example, last holiday season on Riverdale Avenue. Sen. Klein was able to secure funds for KRVC that were used to decorate our corridor with holiday lights for this first time in recent memory.

The decorations beautified our block, heightening the holiday spirit of the many residents who visit Riverdale Avenue during the holiday season.

Aside from us merchants, Sen. Klein works diligently to help everybody else in the community, especially our children and seniors.

He was instrumental in securing the free city universal pre-kindergarten, which provides working parents with the peace of mind that their children are receiving a quality education at no cost while they’re out making a living.
