The Death of Oedipus chamber opera

The Death of Oedipus, a chamber opera with music and libretto by Martin Halpern, will be presented Oct. 25, 26, 27 at 8 PM at the Davenport Theatre Complex in NYC. A former professor of English and American Literature at U of Ca/Berkeley, the U of Mass/Amherst, and Brandeis University (for almost 30 years), the venerable Mr. Halpern is drawn to the classics for themes for his chamber operas. Performers are Jim Trainor, Emily Stokes, Aram Tchobanian, Joseph Mace, and Joseph Peterson, accompanied on piano by Raisa Kagramanova.
