The Met staple Margaret Ann Sheridan, 88

Margaret Ann “Peg” Sheridan, a longtime Riverdale resident, died Nov. 18, 2017. She was 88.

The daughter of Catherine and Michael Sheridan and the beloved sister of Bridget, Michael, Martin and Mary, she is survived by her brother Patrick, sisters-in-law Ann and Olga, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She worked for more than three decades at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, including as comptroller.

She was remarkably lucky at bingo, raffles and the lotto. She was a talented, if not widely appreciated, painter. She loved her nights out at Joe Cornyn’s and her Tauck Tours with her dear friends.

Above all, she was a loving, generous and inspirational person.
