Arlene Alda, author of “Just Kids From the Bronx: Telling It the Way It Was: An Oral History” will bring together young and old Bronxites for an exciting intergenerational panel discussion on what it means to be a “kid from the Bronx.”

Hosted by The New Jewish Home, the event will explore the connections that exist between these two generations by highlighting their shared Bronx experiences. The older adults on the panel are tenants of The New Jewish Home’s Kittay Senior Apartments, an independent living residence in the Bronx. The teenagers are student volunteers in The New Jewish Home’s Geriatrics Career Development program which offers youth attending under-resourced New York City schools an opportunity to train for careers in healthcare.

Ms. Alda’s book received high praise, including from President Bill Clinton who said, “No matter where you grew up, you’ll find this a down-to-earth, inspiring book about the American promise fulfilled.” The author of 19 books and a Bronxite by birth, Ms. Alda is the mother of three daughters and the grandmother of eight. She and her husband, actor Alan Alda, live in New York City and Long Island.

Signed copies of Ms. Alda’s book will be raffled off.

Seats can be reserved in advance. Check-in is also available at the door.
