Theatre Outreach Presents Black History Month Performance: “A Celebration of Our Youth — A Youth Arts Jamboree”

The Sarah Lawrence College Theatre Outreach Program is bringing The Theodore D. Young Community Center’s (TDYCC) Arts and Culture Unit and Teen Acting Workshop to the Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 17, 2018 for a special performance in honor of Black History Month. The show, “A Celebration of our Youth — A Youth Arts Jamboree,” is free to attend and begins at 1:00 p.m in Reisinger Auditorium.

This annual show, “A Celebration of our Youth — A Youth Arts Jamboree,” will include performances, “The Non-Loser’s Club” and “A Tribute to Langston Hughes.” In “A Tribute to Langston Hughes,” special guest, soprano soloist, Ms. Olivia Hunter will present Hughes’s classic poem “Let America be America Again.” The TDYCC workshop students will be performing a selection of hip-hop and African dance. The jamboree is directed by Paul Kwame Johnson and choreographed by Jessica Parris.
