Trump shares blame

Posted

To the editor:

The president whom you have so eagerly supported does grievous harm to this nation in many ways, daily.

With his pathological need to tweet his basest thoughts, he divides the American people, debases the already parlous state of political discourse, and causes our friends around the world to shudder and turn away.

The list of his offenses goes on and on, with new horrors each and every day — most recently, blaming Puerto Rico for the catastrophe of a hurricane, and calling American citizens — our own fellow citizens — “ingrates.”

Our body politic and our social fabric cannot stand this constant shredding. You have responsibility for this, having backed him, and until now, maintaining silence about his serial offenses.

All of you Republicans in Congress, you have a responsibility to stand up and speak out against them. If you do not, you will have as much blame as the sorry soul in the White House for the permanent damage done.
