West 256th accident claims life of Riverdale man

An 82-year-old man involved in a two-car accident on Riverdale Avenue and West 256th Street on July 13 has died. 

Alexander Loris, who lived at Hebrew Home at Riverdale's RiverWalk on Palisade Avenue, succumbed to his injuries on July 19, according to the New York Police Department.

According to reports, Loris was driving in his 2013 Lexus south on Riverdale Avenue just after 7 a.m., on July 13, when he was hit near West 256th by a 2013 Honda Accord, driven by a 72-year-old man police did not identify. 

Loris suffered injuries to both his head and neck, and was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he died several days later.

No arrests have been made, but the investigation continues, according to police.
