What exactly is a father?

To the editor:

The fifth-graders from P.S. 75 have written about fathers. I have used lines from their letters to form one message out of many.

A father is the foundation of a family (Mercelis). He is the light that brings you out of the dark (Givenly). He is the reason you are alive, and every moment feels special (Loreidy).

Fathers are the best advisers (Angel). They are rich with forgiveness and love (Loreidy). A father is a person that will guide you through life (Aminatou). Fathers are the best at being over-protective (Myami). And a super man where there are obstacles in your way (Loreidy). 

Fathers live for us (Victoria). A father is a good person who gives his family love (Tianna). Fathers appreciate being loved, and often show that they do (Iman). 

A father may live far away, but always close to our heart (Galasha). Finally, you can say that a father will always love you (Alexa). A father can be the best of the best (Syanna).
