Wayne Price’s letter is filled with misinformation. I see a regrettable pattern among some Jews, decrying anti-Semitic violence while offering a blanket condemnation of Israel.

It was a great pleasure to hear “Stand By Me” performed on television at the recent Democratic National Convention. The authors — Jerry Lieber for the lyric and Mike Stoller for the music — were born in 1933, as was I. They collaborated from 1950 until 2011, when Lieber died.
