4 a.m. robbers continue to terrorize Bronx, Inwood

A string of late-night robberies that seemingly started last August in Kingsbridge is racking up more and more victims as police try to bring the drive-by jewelry snatchers to justice.

The latest robberies have hit Norwood, Hudson Heights and Inwood, almost always in the pre-dawn hours, like the 30-year-old man who was robbed near 3070 Webster Ave. in Norwood just after 6 a.m., on Oct. 3, by two men he said were brandishing a gun. The robbers reportedly grabbed the man's gld chain and Rolex watch before racing off.

It was three individuals who targeted a 28-year-old man in front of 566 W. 182nd St., in Hudson Heights just before 6 a.m., on Oct. 8, once again showing a firearm. They took the man's Miami Cuban gold chain and Rolex before running off.

The most recent attack was Oct. 14, just before 1 a.m., when a 30-year-old man in front of the BP gas station at 3936 10th Ave., in Inwood, was approached by three men who showed a gun and started kicking him, running off with his Cuban linked gold and diamond chain as well as his diamond watch.

Police have now tagged these robbers with 10 incidents dating back to an Aug. 26 late-night robbert near the intersection of Broadway and Verveelen Place where a couple was attacked by two men while getting into their car, handing over about $200 and jewelry. 

Another incident inside the 50th Precinct reportedly took place about 4:25 a.m., on Sept. 16 when a 37-year-old man was approached near West 227th Street and Arlington Avenue showing a firearm, hitting him in the face, and demanding property — jewelry worth nearly $16,000, and about $600 in cash. 

There are few details on the robbers, but police are looking to talk to a woman who investigators believe may have been working with them.
