Child shot on Bailey Avenue

A suspect accused of shooting 9-year-old Amanda Chauan outside of her 3340 Bailey Ave. home at around 9:29 p.m. Friday night, is in custody.

Amanda was wounded by a male riding a BMX bicycle, who fired six shots, leaving the child with a wound to her stomach, police and family members said.

She was driven to North Central Bronx hospital and transferred to juvenile section of Jacobi Medical Center. She was released on Sunday.
